Knowledge is only a 1/4 of the battle.

I constantly hear, “Knowledge is half the battle.” If true, why do people not change or grow from applying such knowledge?

In my private psychotherapy practice, I constantly work with individuals to help them gain and apply this newfound knowledge so that they can get the most benefit from it.

However, they rarely gain the most from an experience the first time. The reason is that they had an intense emotional reaction to the behavior or service and ended up rushing through it with minimal self-awareness. This is why knowledge is only a 1/4 of the battle.

Let's first define the actual battle.

The battle is for experience and wisdom.

ok, now that that is established, let's get into the other 4quarters and how I break them down.

The first 1/4 is knowledge.

Diving into homesteading there is so much I need to learn and be aware of. I started with raising chickens for eggs, I have moved on to cornish hens for meat. I have had to read, watch videos, and ask local people in my area about what to do and how to do it. but…..

The second 1/4 is emotional regulation and execution.
