How social media has given us an inside look into “celebrity.”

And it’s drawbacks!

Before February 14th, 2014, when Facebook was created, we all wondered what the day and life of being a celebrity was like. Through our new broadcasts, we saw money, fame, and notoriety, but the ins and outs of daily loss were heavily edited and scripted to sound and appear unique and intriguing. So naturally, it became a thing of desire and nostalgia.

Since then, we all have had access and the potential to put in the work and obtain that ever-elusive celebrity position!

But what are the fallbacks?

Well, we have seen it start off as people making statements and expressing behaviors only meant for the screen and the contained works of the World Wide Web.

As politics and various societal issues arise, those thoughts and behaviors have spilled over into real life and have created influence within small communities and sectionalized groups.

With time, those groups might have grown and their influence as well.

Incorporating those of all socioeconomic standings into the divulgence of media, there has been a shift in the perception of the social contract and the world.

Traditional celebrities of the past appeared to express themselves freely, but their personal relations managers scripted…
