Being on the other side of “ follow your passion” is interesting.

I am a licensed clinical social worker( mental health therapist), and my work is not a hobby, a strong interest, or even my passion. It is more than that—it is who I am at the core of my being!

Feeling that and saying it are very different, mostly because of the stereotypical responses and thoughts you get from others.

People mostly say “ oh that is nice” and “good for you”. For the most part, they brush it off.

Yet there is a dichotomy because everyone so badly wants it, yet when it comes down to following their dreams, they back off and immediately disregard their passions.

This is ok, I understand, but being on the other side and living my passion, I want to push and encourage others to follow their passion. This is not because of some Hollywood fantasy ideology.

The reality is that being your passion is quite freeing and liberating.

I can be at peace with the totality of who I am and move forward with the daily push to improve and be a better person for myself and those around me.

Being your passion can, at least for me, eliminate burnout. I am so connected with what I do that I don’t face burnout. I do get tired and need to rest my mind and body, but it is not burnout.
